I’ve stayed at Beachfront Terraces many times over the years, and my favourite rooms have been 204, a recently renovated ground-floor room with beach views, and 218, a bright and airy two bedroom with garden views. The position makes a relaxing holiday easy, with restaurants and shops so close by. As they say in the classics, “Position Position Position.” These lovely apartments are perfectly placed for Four Mile Beach and everything Port Douglas has to offer. I counted 210 meters to the beach and 775 meters to Coles on Macrossan Street.

Tommy and the rest of the staff were exceptional. Our apartment also had lovely sea views, and its spot near the facilities and Macrossan Street made getting around easy.

The office staff were very helpful, and the location is the one thing this place has going for it. Our one bedroom apartment felt very outdated. The bathroom was tiny, barely more than a powder room, and would be rough if you’re claustrophobic. I took photos of the cracked toilet bowl, little basin, and the single shelf. The bedroom was okay, but the corridor was too narrow for two people to pass side by side. The kitchen was okay, though it was short on crockery and other things. At almost $300 a night, sadly, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Having a lawn for the boys to run around on, a decent pool, and the beach nearby worked really well for us. We were three generations, four adults and four lively grandsons, staying in two adjoining ground floor apartments. They were comfortable and clean, and Macrossan Street was an easy walk away. It suited our needs perfectly.

The bed was comfortable, but the bathrooms were pokey and the place needs a proper clean from top to bottom. The screens and blinds were filthy, there was mould, and the windows were dirty too. They didn’t come back to clean. No wifi either. You’d think they’d have sorted that out by now. Not good value.
