The Regal Hotel apartments were clean and well equipped, with lots of seating, a table and TV in the main kitchen and dining area. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the jacuzzi was a lovely surprise. We stayed four days and could wash our clothes using the provided machine. We had a busy itinerary and didn't use the pool, though it looked nice. The location in the centre of town was excellent. As pensioners, the lack of a lift was a drawback, but the staff were very helpful. They moved us from the original third-floor apartment to the second floor, which was easier for us. The manager also came in very early on departure morning to carry our bags downstairs well before our 7:00am pick-up. We were very grateful.

The pool was a great place to cool off, with plenty of loungers and seats for catching the sun. I had a lovely five-day break in this clean, comfortable hotel just off Port Douglas's main street. Cairns airport is about an hour away by road. I would have given it five stars if there had been a lift instead of stairs.

Kim and James made us feel so welcome and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. We had a very clean, comfortable room with a pleasant outlook, and shops and places to eat were all within walking distance. We stayed six nights for a relaxing break and would happily return soon.

The room was spacious, with a kitchenette, great air conditioning, and a balcony with a big door that opened up the space. There was also a jacuzzi and day bed, which made it easy to enjoy the outdoors. Shops, restaurants, and especially 4 mile beach were all an easy walk away. Reception was lovely and accommodating.

Avoid this place. The sofa bed was painfully uncomfortable, with no cushions and springs that really hurt, and the heavy door often closed on you. You also need keys to get in. We locked ourselves out and were charged for it, even though the welcome kit only mentioned a fee for lost keys. The TV wouldn't connect to the internet, and the manager never answered despite my repeated calls. Staff were rude, hard to reach for questions, and seemed to pack up as soon as business hours ended. They don't work weekends. This feels like a scam.
