The house stayed snug and warm even during the very cold weather we had. It’s a lovely cottage for two couples, with comfortable beds, plenty of room, and everything well equipped. When it’s warmer, the shaded deck and outdoor dining area would be lovely. The owners were nearby if we needed help and gave us useful local advice.

After 9,000 km on the road and 24 nights away, Lazy Days B&B was by far the best place we stayed. The cottage is immaculate, with modern fittings in every room. It has a full-size, well-equipped kitchen, a large TV with lots of channels, quiet split system air conditioning, a well-stocked library, a big bathroom, a washing machine, and a lovely patio with a gas BBQ. There are some thoughtful little extras too, but I’ll leave those for you to discover. It’s just a few minutes from the ocean and right beside a wildlife park. The cottage feels quiet and secluded, while town is still an easy distance away. We absolutely loved it and will stay whenever we’re in the region.

Bad weather and floods almost everywhere else changed our plans at the last minute, so we chose to stay in Victor Harbor. Lazy Days worked really well, with enough room if we’d ended up stuck indoors in pouring rain. We would have stayed longer, but it was sold out, so book early. Cheryl let us in and showed us around the neighbouring Cozy Cottage as well. Lazy Days has two bedrooms with queen beds and a generous open-plan living area. It’s nicely decorated but practical, with suitcase holders and shelves to keep things tidy after unpacking. There’s plenty of parking, landscaped grounds, and a large veranda looking out over the countryside. We couldn’t get mobile reception with Optus or Vodafone, but the Wi-Fi was pretty good, and the large TV has Netflix. Urimbirra Wildlife Park, the local zoo, and Nangawooka Flora Reserve, the local botanical gardens, are next door. It’s a good base for exploring the Fleurieu, and I’d recommend it.
