Beachside Holiday Apartments

We had two small children with us, so having a laundry in the apartment made things much easier. The grounds and pool were looked after daily, and there are cafes and restaurants within walking distance. We even watched whales from the roof terrace. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well maintained. We had a problem with the air conditioning, but management responded quickly and arranged a technician for the next day when they couldn’t fix it themselves. They’d explained the after hours access beforehand, and getting into the garage and apartment went smoothly. We can’t wait to come back.

A whale from the rooftop deck was my favourite part, especially with a glass of wine in hand. The pool and BBQ area was a great place to spend time with the family, and the beach is right across the road. Shops, a beach kiosk, Cafe, sushi and patisserie are only a couple of minutes away. The rooms were spacious, clean and equipped for a self sufficient stay, with easy parking in a secure undercover carpark. The office isn’t staffed on weekends, but after I locked myself out, management were very helpful when I called the after hours number.

The apartment had plenty of space, was well appointed and comfortable, and my daughter loved the pool. It was peaceful and quiet, with a great location and a large spa. We stayed for three nights and had what we needed, but the place felt dated. There was quite a bit of mould on the curtains, along with knocks, scrapes and stains, and service was minimal. An unexpected $300 was taken from our account immediately, even though they had my Visa for security and asked us to take photos of the mould and damage in case there was a dispute. I’d never had this happen at anywhere else we’ve stayed, despite travelling a lot, and the money took about four days to come back. I like to know these things in advance. I’d rate the space, location and appointments 5/5, service 2/5 and condition 1/5.

We love being able to walk across the road to the beach, catch a bus into town, or visit Sandbox and Roam coffee shops, other places to eat, the pharmacy, medical centre, convenience shop and post office nearby. Damien and Natalie are pleasant and run a very good complex. We’ve stayed at Beachside several times, this time for two months, and the units are spacious and well maintained. The shower head is great, although we’d prefer a walk in shower. We’ll be back at Xmas with our extended family. Highly recommend. Gemma
