Flynns Beach Caravan Park

This was one of our favourite campsites on a five-week trip up the East Coast. The cooking facilities were clean, and the modern bathrooms were kept clean throughout the day. We arrived late, but the staff made it completely stress-free and were great on the phone. There's a lovely beach just a short walk away. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

We paid well over $500 for two nights in a beach house at Flynns Beach Caravan Park on our way back from the Gold Coast, and came away feeling ripped off. We did travel over a long weekend, so I understand prices go up, but even at a lower price I wouldn't return. The cabin was among the oldest in the park, and the website photos were heavily doctored, making it look much nicer than it was. The stairs were rickety, and the railing was broken. My daughter nearly fell through it on our first afternoon. Inside was fairly clean, but the shower screen was rusted in place and had been replaced with a curtain. The beds were hard and makeshift, with a timber base made from offcuts and a strange mattress whose springs could be felt at times. WiFi was advertised, but it didn't work at all in the beach house.

We had a lovely Friday here, and it was good value for money. Getting into the caravan park was easy, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the amenities block was clean and well maintained.

The location may be nice, but the owner-manager's attitude overshadowed my stay at Flynns Beach Caravan Park. When I asked simple, reasonable questions, they were rude instead of showing basic courtesy. Good customer service should be a foundation of an accommodation business, and I hope management improves its approach for future guests.
