Town Beach Beachcomber Resort

The bathroom really needs attention. It was moldy, dirty and worn, with a door that wouldn’t shut or lock properly, and a hairdryer that was falling apart. We were given an accessible bathroom with no bath or shower screen, and the curtain didn’t keep the water in, which got messy with two kids. There was no vanity or space for toiletries. The top floor also means lots of stairs. There was thick dust and dirt around the property, including on the cupboard shelves. It needs a much more thorough clean between guests. On the plus side, the location worked well for us, about a five minute walk to the beach, with playgrounds nearby and restaurants within walking distance. There’s garage parking, a good pool that felt a little cold even on a hot day, and lovely, helpful staff. The WiFi was great, and the fans and air conditioning were useful. It’s a good place to stay with potential, but the cleaning could be better and it needs some work.

There’s no lift, so getting four suitcases up two flights of stairs was a struggle. The rooms also felt quite worn. The bathroom had a tiny shower, partly used toiletries, and stains everywhere.

Just a one-night stopover, but the room was really clean and the bed was so comfortable. Friendly service too.

The kitchen made a late dinner difficult. The pans were badly scratched and there were only two tiny saucepans. I wouldn’t call this family friendly. You can only shower in the bathtub, which has a high step; my mum didn’t shower because climbing in and out was too hard for her. There’s no lift, and we were on level 3, which meant four flights of stairs from the garage. At checkout we were asked to take the rubbish to the bin in the garage, so we had to carry it down along with all our other things. The bedsheets were stained. The pool was meant to open at 8am, and I was waiting from 7:56. After ten minutes with no instructions, I asked someone passing by for help. She went to reception, where a staff member unlocked it. The staff member apologized for being five minutes late, but a sign or instructions about getting the key from reception would have saved the wait.
