Basils Brush

The views and setting at Basil's Brush are beautiful, and we had a great time in the house and out on the deck. My family and two other families, all with little kids, had been excited for a hot weekend and lots of pool time. That didn't happen: when we arrived, the pool was very dirty and had a dead rat in it. The owner said the cleaners had checked it a few days earlier, but the rat and the pool filter seemed to have stopped working well before then. A pool cleaner came on our first day, but the water only cleared near the end of our stay, so nobody went swimming. After we left, my wife realized she'd forgotten her phone charger and asked the owner to help get it back. He said he'd follow up with the cleaners, but that never happened. It's a wonderful house, though the cleaning, communication between the owner and cleaners, or probably the management overall needs a lot of work.
