Lakeside Tourist Park

We came to Lakeside Tourist Park hoping for a relaxing lakeside holiday, but the stay was a letdown. The location has potential, though we wouldn’t stay again or recommend it until the renovations and management issues are sorted out. Hopefully things improve. The park seems to be under new ownership or management, and the changes showed. The staff we met were genuinely lovely and tried to help, but seemed frustrated by decisions from the new management. There was major work right beside our campsite. For two full days, heavy machinery was removing the children’s playground, making constant noise and dust. Workers were also taking down a nearby shed with power tools all day. High winds made things worse, and dust covered our van, gear, and us throughout the visit. It wasn’t possible to relax. The facilities were in poor shape: none of the laundry’s washing machines or dryers worked, and the dump point was overflowing and completely out of order. The nightly rates were frustrating too. With dynamic pricing like a hotel, the cost to extend by one night varied wildly even though our friends had a similar setup. They paid $55 for a better site and an extra child, while we paid $72. It felt unpredictable and unfair.
