The Pelican Shed looked appealing at first, especially its location, and communication was good. We liked the main living area and being close to the beach. But the price is charged on a sliding scale per person, so what first looked like good value turned out to be one of the most expensive choices. We’d already shared it with the group and couldn’t back out. The toilets are right across from the bedrooms, so you hear them whenever someone uses them. The heating was either all or nothing, and we were uncomfortable for most of the week. At checkout we cleaned as a thank-you to the host, then were surprised by a substantial extra cleaning bill. It arrived after the Airbnb review period had ended, so we couldn’t post there. I suspect that was on purpose. A very negative experience. Robe has lots of places to stay, so be cautious and book something else.

We had a fantastic time exploring the region and would love to come back. The Pelican Shed made a lovely base, with lots of light, a warm, welcoming feel, and everything we needed. It was just the two of us, but there was plenty of space for a family too. The location is great for beach walks and walking into Robe.

It’s perfectly placed for relaxing walks along the beach and cliff tops, and the cafe recommendations were spot on. Inside, the beds were fantastic, the couches comfortable, and all the modern conveniences were there. The house was so well set up, from the heater already on and music playing to the pantry basics and personal note. Nothing to fault. Thoroughly recommended.

We loved the house and its lovely, well-kept garden. The beds were very comfortable, and the location made it easy to reach the beautiful beach and cliff walks. We were given great local tips on what to see and do, which made this a fantastic place for family or friends. The beach is just around the corner, and town is only a little further away. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Robe. I know where we’ll be staying next time.
