We had a large, very clean two-bedroom apartment for our family of three adults, and it really felt like a home away from home. My husband was in a moon boot, so Ron offered to move us, but it was only one flight of stairs and he managed slowly. We’d stay here again if we ever return to Rockhampton.

The air conditioners were filthy, so I had to clean them, and the couch could use a thorough clean or a throw over. Apart from that, the rooms and apartment were fantastic. It’s in an excellent spot close to everything, with plenty of parking.

We’d stayed in the two-bedroom apartment the week before while travelling, then got upgraded to a townhouse for this stay. It was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. With more room than the apartment, it worked perfectly for our two young children. The only drawback was how noisy the two air conditioners were in the townhouse we stayed in.

On my first trip to Rocky, I couldn’t be happier with the accommodation. Clean, neat, and it smells beautiful. Management were fantastic to deal with: they texted as soon as my room was ready, before check-in time, and were lovely and friendly when I arrived. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to town.

We had a really bad experience. At check-in, the receptionist asked for ID and a credit card. I provided my driver license and card, then saw him entering the card details into his computer. I said I didn’t want confidential information saved somewhere I couldn’t trust. He explained that it was their policy in case I damaged the room. I was willing to pay a deposit, but handing over card details felt unsafe. The hotel didn’t trust me not to break cheap furniture or appliances, despite already having my details from booking.com, yet expected me to trust them with full access to my payment card, which they could use months or years after I left. We argued politely for about five minutes, with no insults from either side. I eventually gave in and agreed to share the details. Then the receptionist said I wasn’t welcome anymore and cancelled the reservation because I wasn’t happy and might leave a bad review on booking.com. He saw I was travelling with kids and luggage, without transport, but still told me to go away and find somewhere else. Luckily, booking.com found us another place. If you book this accommodation, be aware you could end up on the street for no reason.
