InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort by IHG

The marina nearby has some great places to eat and shop, and the hotel sits in a really pretty spot. Breakfast was excellent, and the venue was great overall. The room was nice, though a bit dated. The air conditioning was loud and struggled to cool things down. It was set to 22, but I reckon the room stayed around 26-28, so sleeping felt sticky and muggy.

The service really stood out. My mum uses a wheelchair, and whenever we wanted to explore the hotel, a quick call brought the buggy to us. Everyone we met was warm and willing to help. We even asked a room attendant we ran into by the roadside where the sauna was. He wasn't sure, but instead of sending us away to ask someone else, he tried to find out for us. I took Mum here for a girls' staycation and booked a stay-and-dine package with dinner and breakfast. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the bed and pillow were comfortable. Dinner was a fresh, well-cooked three-course meal. The breakfast buffet had a good selection, and campos coffee was included too. I'd happily stay here again.

The resort opened in the late 80s and has held up well, though a few areas are looking a bit tired. Renovation work is ongoing. I was there for a wedding: the glass chapel was lovely, and the reception at the Grange was amazing. Congratulations, IHG, on a great property. There’s plenty to enjoy here, from the pool, spa and lagoon to the games room and activities. The nearby Country club has golf and a gym, while Marina Village next door has boutiques, restaurants and an IGA. The breakfast buffet was varied and high quality. Most of the staff were superb and couldn't do enough for us, apart from one very grumpy young barista. This really is a luxury resort.

Zandra in the Club Lounge made such a difference for our son. She was warm, patient and genuinely caring, and made every visit a highlight of our day. Gabrielle at lagoon bar also makes a brilliant chilli mango margarita, and Zoe at The Fireplace was friendly and welcoming. She made dinner feel easy and fun, and the steaks were among the best we've had. We had a wonderful family break at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort. The gardens are beautiful, and our son loved the lagoon pool. Everything felt relaxed and spacious, just right for a proper family break. Our room was spacious, breakfast was great, and the calm atmosphere made the stay memorable. We left feeling relaxed and grateful, and can't wait to return.
