The bungalow was filthy. I work in the industry and could tell it hadn't been cleaned in months. There were bugs, spiders and scorpions on the floors, dust and pubic hair around the toilet, splatters on the mirror, and a thick layer of dust on the bedhead. The sheets were marked, and the pillowcases looked like they needed replacing or ironing. Dust covered the window sills, with thick cobwebs inside. The bathroom had no toilet roll holder or towel rail, just two mismatched towels, no face washers, and random bottles in the shower. There was no hair dryer. The shower leaked and had mould. In the kitchen, every cupboard had food splatters and greasy fingerprints, there was no tea towel, the crockery was odd, the oven was disgusting, and there were hardened spills on the cooktop. Hair and crumbs were inside the drawers. There was only one chair in the room. No tissues, spare toilet rolls, milk, chocolates or cookies were provided, despite the listing saying they would be. The heat pump was broken: it closed back up and flashed an error when switched on. I sent a lot of photos and raised all of this, but was ignored for hours. There was no apology or offer to fix anything. A refund was mentioned, then they stopped replying. Cigarette butts were in the pot plants, and there was a condom wrapper and other rubbish in the unmaintained gardens. The driveway is extremely steep, and I regret driving up it. There wasn't a TV in any room or in the upstairs shared areas, and the Wi-Fi didn't work. This is a shared guest house, so other people may be staying in the upstairs rooms if they're booked. To top it off, towels and bedding were stored on the garage floor, and sheets hung up to hide the view didn't help. Disappointing and disgraceful. Do not stay here.

It's a cheap place close to the city, with a decent view. The building seems recently renovated and is quite clean, without feeling old, though some things like the door handles are a little damaged. Getting up the very steep driveway is a challenge. The facilities are shared, with five bedrooms that each have their own lock.

I felt ripped off by how misleading the accommodation description was. The place needs a lot of work and care: the furnishings are old, the indoor plants are dead, and there's no cushions like in the online photos. The gardens are full of rubbish and aren't maintained. Basic items were missing, including a TV, clock radio, tea towel, cleaning cloth, toilet roll holder, bathroom towel holders, hand towel, bed table lamps and washing machine. The kitchen fridge has been moved into the bed and couch area. The towels don't look like the ones in the advertisement, and the bathroom soap is a cheap Coles pump. Be warned if you're thinking of staying.

The views and location are great, but getting there is a workout. The driveway is extremely steep, and pedestrians have to use lots of steep steps. There are many basic things missing: no TV or radio, no teaspoons, and no bin bags. The rubbish bin was already full, and the bed was broken with several makeshift repairs. The advert photos are deceptive.

The views were great and the rooms clean, but I stayed just one night and that was enough. There was no air conditioning on a hot Hobart day, and no flyscreens, so I couldn't leave my room's sliding door open. The steep stairs to the front of the house aren't suitable for people with mobility issues. That should be mentioned for people paying good money to stay, and anyone who dislikes stairs should check the street view first. Onsite parking means street parking, though it's in a dead end street, so that's OK. Their emails say to call with problems or questions. I rang to ask if I could book the same room for the previous night since I arrived in Hobart early, but I'm still waiting for a return call. Fortunately, I didn't have trouble getting into the house. Honestly, if I'd read the reviews first, I probably would've stayed elsewhere, but that's on me.
