We loved Shearwater and will definitely come back to explore more. The location is the best, and our unit looked out over the fairways. It was so relaxing to watch the view each day and the occasional golfer go by. The furnishings are very outdated, but the unit was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Everyone from reception to housekeeping was very friendly. The tavern seems to have improvements planned and needs more casual seating, though the food was high quality and there were lots of choices.

Our first week was in a good but outdated studio, then we spent weeks two and three in a superb newer two-bedroom apartment. The location was fab, overlooking the golf course and a short walk from the beach. The restaurant served good food and the staff were very helpful. My only annoyance was stains on the soft furnishings, left by previous occupants. I wish these places had leather sofas. Other than that, all great. Thank you.

A nice base for exploring the top and middle of Tasmania. It's a pretty little village, with nice apartments. The grocery shop, cafe, and onsite restaurant are an easy walk away, and there's a supermarket a short drive away.

Watching golfers tee off from our balcony was nice. We got a week at Shearwater Resort in Tasmania through a timeshare exchange, and it worked well as a base for exploring the north west and northern parts of Tasmania. I wasn't keen on the shower over the bath.

It was an expensive disappointment. We were with a party of 11, and my husband and I both ordered eye fillet medium rare. Both steaks were very small and came well done. I asked a waitress to take a look after I cut into mine. She agreed they were overcooked and said she'd tell the manager, but no one came to speak with us. We were hungry, so we ate them. When the table was being cleared, I asked again what had happened, and was told it was too late to do anything since we'd eaten. As we were getting ready to leave, another waitress offered a free dessert or drink. That was too little, too late. We didn't want to sit there by ourselves after our friends had left.
