For the price, this is great value in Shep. The rooms are spotless and roomy, with a comfortable bed, a kitchenette with a hotplate, microwave/convection/grill, and an outdoor sitting area. There’s a pool too, and the staff are friendly. It’s on the highway, as are most motels here, so if road noise bothers you, ask for a room on the far side.

A really good stay, and parking was easy with plenty of spaces. The beds are super comfortable with lots of pillows, and the showers have steady pressure and plenty of hot water. It’s a quiet place, and I didn’t hear anyone else while I was there. The staff were lovely and helpful. My only snag was the firm 2pm check-in, even though the room was ready. I spent an hour waiting in a parking spot down the road, so getting in a bit earlier would’ve been nice. Thanks for a terrific stay otherwise.

We’ve booked here several times on our way back to NSW from SA, and we’ll stay again. It’s only minutes from the centre, where the cafes and restaurants are. The room is spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed, just right for an overnight stop.

For a motel that wasn’t cheap, the room made it hard to enjoy the stay. On a day over 40 degrees, we bought ice creams, but the freezer had a puddle of water at the bottom, as if it had been switched off or set too warm. The sofa was worse: one side had what looked like at least a handful of knife punctures. That didn’t feel pleasant or comfortable, and certainly didn’t help us feel safe. It may not be an expensive motel, but it was far from low-priced, even through third-party sites.
