Country Motor Inn Singleton

There isn’t a single positive thing I can say about this place. The pool is covered, and the whole area is dirty. Inside, the room was awful: old, with original 60s bathroom tiles and paint that looked untouched for over 30 years. The toilet leaked onto the floor, the bottom of the shower curtain was dirty and mouldy, and there was so much dust on the headboard I could have written in it. The pillows were flat, and the quilt had texta marks all over it. I ended up with bite marks, probably from mites because of the dust. It was the only place available when everything else was booked, but there are plenty of good places to stay in Singleton. I left booking too late. I’d never go back. Absolutely awful, I should’ve slept in the car.

The problems started with a mouldy smell as soon as I opened the door. The carpet was dirty, and the room had old dressing and paint. There was dirt on the counter and an active ants nest on the bench. Mould covered the walls, and there was dust everywhere, along with food and other liquid stains on the seats, table and remotes. The toilet was loose on the floor and moved away from the pipe in the wall. Road noise never stopped, and neither did the bats in the park. The list goes on. I left with a rash and itching. The ratings don’t go low enough.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this place was disgusting. The sheets and floors were dirty, the ceiling was taped together, and there was mould on some walls. I woke up with bumps on my arms. I can’t imagine the other rooms are any different.

I feel very safe here as a woman travelling alone, and I’ve stayed many times and plan to keep coming back. The staff are so kind and helpful, especially Arthur and his partner at the front of house. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and have everything you need. It’s close to the businesses, shops and restaurants. I rate this hotel highly.
