The pub has a relaxed, old-school feel, with seating inside and an outdoor area, and the staff were great. We ate there two nights running and didn’t wait long for either meal. The food was tasty, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable. I had nachos the first night, loaded with toppings, sour cream and guacamole, while my partner got sausages with mash and vegetables. The next night I chose the Americana pizza, with pepperoni and mushrooms on a nice light base and plenty of toppings. My partner had satay prawns and rice, which had good flavour and a generous serve.

Great food, good drinks and an awesome atmosphere. I like the meat lovers pizza, steak sub or prawn pasta, and raspberry vodka cordial 😍. For pool, only use the black cue 😎

Buyer beware. The bistro has gone downhill. The last three visits weren’t great: the food wasn’t up to scratch, service was poor, and the wait was so long that others at the table had finished eating before my meal arrived. We tried again, but had to send both chicken schnitzels back because THEY WERE OFF. There wasn’t even an apology, and I won’t be back. It’s a brilliant pub just as you drive into Singleton from Newcastle. The hotel has been restored to its former glory, with a great little bar, a pool table and a restaurant with plenty of seating.

The main bar has loads of character and a laid-back feel. It’s always warm and cosy here, and the food is amazing, with great prices and huge portions that fill you up.
