The hosts were welcoming and helpful, and there’s a lovely river and beach walk just across the road. The rooms are simple, with a bathroom and basic kitchen appliances, and they worked well for an overnight stop. IGA is a little way up the road, and Burnie is a short drive away. The main drawback is noise from the Bass Highway. Light sleepers might have a rough night, so bring earplugs.

I’d happily stay here again when travelling in North Tasmania. The price was very affordable, the room was spotless, and everything was in good shape. It’s close to the Bass Highway, near the Murchison Highway corner, but felt quiet and suited a longer stay. The restaurant out front served very nice food too.

Clean place, and I liked relaxing or fishing by the river out front. The host was warm and enthusiastic about exploring the NW area. There were a few drinks and snacks to buy from the mini fridge.

The bed was the big problem: so many springs were broken that I nearly rolled out during the night. We’d specifically asked about using the laundromat when booking, but once there, we were strongly discouraged because it apparently didn’t work well. There was only one slow machine, and it wouldn’t open until later, among other issues. Such a letdown. The staff were helpful otherwise, the sheets and towels were clean, the shower was hot, and parking was right beside the room. Even the electronic door spoke nicely to me.

The Jetty Restaurant on site was a real plus, with tasty Tasmanian produce cooked beautifully and reasonably priced. We were greeted warmly and got excellent suggestions for local sightseeing. Our room was comfortable, warm, and well maintained. Plenty to enjoy here.
