Hume Inn Motel Albury CBD

The beds were the weak point for us. We could feel the springs, so there was a lot of tossing and turning. The rooms have good amenities, though, and are fine despite the motel having been around for a long time. It sits right across from the Murray River, lovely for a stroll after a long drive, and South Albury makes it easy to join the motorway towards Melbourne after a night's rest.

The Italian restaurant was delicious, and the bakery next door does great coffee. I highly recommend their curry sausage rolls. Hume Inn's location across from the park was ideal for walking my two giant dogs, and the pool was clean with a neat surrounding area. My room was large, comfortable and clean, with practical amenities. Room 6 had next-level shower pressure, and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were amazing from nose to tail. Thanks for looking after me and the dogs, and the checkout time was great too. I'll definitely stay again.

It was handy to have the pizzeria next door, but the stay was disappointing and noisy. The room was old and very small, and several guests were yelling, swearing and having loud phone conversations late into the night and early morning. I appreciate that the motel is pet friendly, but we were charged an extra $30 on arrival and nothing was done to accommodate our pet. To take the pet to the neighbouring park for toileting, we had to cross a very busy, noisy road. There was nobody at reception when we arrived, so I had to call and ask someone to come check us in.

I paid for a room with a balcony, but the room we checked into didn't have one. The mattress was extremely firm, and I barely slept, so I might be cranky, but it felt like I was sleeping on the floor. A three-star hotel, definitely.
