Best Western Plus Hovell Tree Inn

We were surprised to find our spacious one-bedroom room was $70 a night cheaper than the grubby, run-down motel we'd just left, and it was about three times the size. It was very clean and had everything needed for a longer stay. We only had one night, but would have gladly stayed longer if we had time. My bed was comfy, the room was quiet, and the kids slept in nicely, so we felt refreshed for the drive home. The staff were lovely too. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant: kids' meals for them and steak for me.

We spent seven nights in a queen apartment room. It was extremely spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful and professional at both check-in and checkout, always smiling and making nothing feel like too much trouble. It's an easy walk to Dean Street and everything there, which made the location fantastic. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, spa or sauna, but they looked inviting and well maintained. Highly recommend as a place to stay or as a base for exploring Albury Wodonga.

Our family stopped overnight on the way to Melbourne, and the room was spotless, tidy and comfortable, just what we needed after a long drive. We enjoyed the stay so much that we've already booked here again for the return trip. Highly recommended for families or anyone after a comfortable, hassle-free stay in Albury.

The room was big and close to the lift, and the manager came within 15 minutes when I called about a bedding issue. He apologised and sorted it out. Beyond that, it was disappointing. The shower soap leaked onto the floor and made it slippery, so we put a bowl underneath. The bathroom sink was dirty, there was limescale built up on the tap spout, no cover over the sink hole, and a grime smell. Under the kitchen sink cupboard it smelled like fish. The bed was far too soft for me. The rooms are over $200 a night, and people expect better at that price. We enjoyed staying here four years ago, but this visit was noisy, with the motel on a major road, and the experience had changed for the worse.
