The beach was the best part of the location for us: calm, clear water just a short walk from our cabin, and the kids wanted to go down every day. Watching the sunrise over the ocean was a daily highlight. There were lots of kangaroos and kookaburras, though they could get too bold, coming onto the verandah, into the rubbish and after food on our plates. The pool and café area were great, and the games area kept the kids happy, but some café staff weren’t especially friendly. Our main problem was the beach villa’s cleanliness. There was visible mould on the main door curtain and on the blinds in the kids’ room. We took down the curtain so our toddler wouldn’t touch it. The window sills looked like they hadn’t been wiped for a while, and the bedroom carpets didn’t seem vacuumed. The cabin felt unclean enough that my husband, the children and I slept on top of the made beds with our own blankets. I also heard a cleaner swear on three different occasions while walking around the park. She kept going after she noticed the children and me nearby. The park seemed to have limited maintenance, and the TVs only worked if you hotspot from your phone. The beachside location is the park’s strongest point, with larger towns within reach, but the cabin cleanliness will probably keep us from coming back. Earlier reviews mentioned similar cleanliness and staff behaviour concerns, and they still don’t seem to have been dealt with.

We'd happily come back. Our level grassed site was alongside a beautiful beach, with deck chairs provided. The amenities were modern, clean and busy, and there was everything we needed and then some. Friendly staff too.

On the 4th of Feb my partner and I got engaged on the beach, then went to the pool to celebrate with a cocktail and stayed for a swim. The manager had caught on and came over with two glasses and a gorgeous bottle of our favourite Prosecco, plus congratulations. It was complimentary and completely unexpected. I was floored by such a lovely gesture. We’ll now be getting married at that same venue. Moments like that make unforgettable memories. Murramarang is one of my favourite places, and its location, services and staff make it the ultimate 🤗🎉🥂🍾

We were on a powered campsite, so I can’t comment on the rooms, but we were very pleased with the facilities and amenities. The friendly staff were helpful, and there was loads for kids to do: the resort pool, Kids Club, pedal karts, inflatable basketball-Connect 4, soccer archery and the wildlife. Adults had plenty of outdoor spots to hang out too. We loved the onsite café and restaurant. The beachside location is fantastic. Since the Murramarang South Coast Walk runs through here, you can join sections of the multi-day hike right at the entrance. Batemans Bay is about 10-15 mins away by car for supplies or restaurants.

South Durras is beautiful, and the wildlife is so friendly. My experience at NRMA Murramarang Beachfront Holiday Resort was the complete opposite. It felt unhygienic, and the promised mid-stay clean never happened during our 9-night stay. I kept expecting to see the cleaning cart or any sign of the rooms being cleaned as our stay went on. Their policy says accommodation is serviced mid-stay or on the seventh day. At 8:35am on the 31st of December, I went to the office and made sure we were on the job list for the day, since it was New Year’s Eve and the next day was New Year’s Day. The woman confirmed it would be done. I told them we’d be away all day, so they could come in whenever suited. That evening, at our ocean view villa, wet towels were left on the outdoor dining set after the rain. The rooms hadn’t been serviced. When my wife raised it, they said I had to book it in. That felt like a cop-out, since I’d gone in to make sure it was taken care of. The maintenance manager then came in, apologised and promised it would be done by 10am the next day, the 1st of January 2026. By that afternoon, still nothing had been done. The excuses kept getting longer and made no sense alongside their failure to follow through. The rooms were never clean from day one. There was dust built up over the years, which clearly triggered allergies, and a mouldy smell. Very disappointing. Be careful if you’re going with young children, as there are many hazards around and allergies can flare up quickly. I’d choose somewhere else to be safe. The place is falling apart, with rusty gutters and building debris clearly visible, which is actually a hazard. The feedback and lack of response to email are appalling. They’re always happy to take the money but never give back. Not surprising from a NRMA sponsor.
