Glenwood Tourist Park & Motel

The cleanliness was absolutely shocking. I arrived late at night, exhausted, and found several dead bugs and at least two spiders in the room I’d booked. When I asked staff for help, they treated me like a nuisance for not wanting to sleep in an infested room. If they’d taken a minute to check the torn flyscreen, they could have avoided dealing with me, and vice versa. This is well beyond “you get what you pay for.”

I couldn’t stay longer than 20 minutes. After driving for seven hours, I arrived late last night and felt unsafe as soon as I pulled up. Some older men were watching me and following my every move. I’m only 24 and was alone, which made me so uncomfortable that I rushed to the room. It wasn’t clean either: rubbish was still in the bin, the bed wasn’t made, and the sheets and blankets hadn’t been washed and had lots of stains. There were dirty towels on the floor and hanging up. I felt sick and couldn’t even eat the food I’d brought. I had to sleep in my car. I didn’t get a proper response either. So unprofessional, and a waste of my time and money. This isn’t worth $99.

I just needed somewhere to sleep for the night, but the bathroom was covered in long black hairs, and I don’t have long black hair. The floor was dirty too, so I felt really ick staying there. I was in motel room 3, right next to the toilet block, and could hear everyone coming and going through the night. From the reviews, it sounds like the workers’ cabins might have been a better choice.

I booked this room well in advance for a furniture removal job on the way to Lismore, and called several times that afternoon because I’d be arriving late. No one answered or returned my phone message, so after a full day of driving the truck I had to find somewhere else at short notice. More than a month later, I still haven’t heard back from them.
