Naia from the Reception Team made my birthday stay feel special. They left chocolates and a lovely note in the room, and even tracked down the pillow details after my sister had slept so well that she forgot to check. The location was great too. I’d happily stay again.

Being close to the railway station was handy, and I never heard a train arrive or leave. We were also welcomed after hours, and they gave us extra time to depart, which we really appreciated. The rooms and service were better than I expected. The staff went well beyond what I thought they could do for us, and I’d return and recommend the place to anyone looking for somewhere in the city. If you want a place that represents your home, stay home. You even took and posted photos. I think you need to get a life.

I was only in the room for half an hour and got bitten by mosquitoes twice, so I left straight away. There were so many of them, along with a half-eaten packet of Pringles and a large cracked shower screen. I just wanted a clean, safe, well-maintained room, without any fancy extras. My check-in at 7 pm was apparently too late for staff. I’d arrived at 6:30 and tried buzzing, but nobody was available, so I had to carry two 20 kg suitcases up the stairs myself. They gave me fly spray and said there were no other rooms. I felt really unsafe.

We booked the front room with a courtyard for our two little dogs, as we’ve stayed here before because it’s pet friendly. When we arrived, we found the room was being completely renovated. Nobody mentioned that when we booked, and we’d have gone somewhere else if we’d known. The room is a good size, but it was dirty, with sticky floors and dog hair left by previous animals. It’s right beside the train, so unless you’re deaf, don’t expect to sleep. Sadly, we won’t be back to this two-star place.
