Country Bakehouse Accommodation

There was plenty of space for our family of five, and the house had everything we could need. It was clean and nicely presented, too. We spent a week there and loved every minute. Carol was a very welcoming host and shared local tips about places to visit and attractions to see.

Carol even had the heat on for us when we arrived late on a cold Friday night. The old house has a lovely country feel, with a big yard and heaps of parking. There’s a pub and shop right across the road, and the beds were warm and comfortable with electric blankets. The lounge was lovely too, and there’s plenty more to like. I can’t recommend Carol or her accommodation enough. 10/10, A+, would book again.

The host was friendly and accommodating, and the house feels comfortable and homely. There’s a lot to discover inside, with enough room for three families to have space to themselves. We’re planning to return with friends and use it as a base for a weekend exploring the Clare Valley.

From the outside, you wouldn’t guess how lovely this old bakery is inside. The large lounge, spacious main bedroom with its sunny annex, second bedroom, dining room, bathroom and separate toilet are all furnished with quality and style that suit the vintage rooms. The kitchen is big, very well equipped and has a large table, plus a generous supply of breakfast food. It really feels like the owner has stepped out and left you to enjoy the whole house. There was even an unused full-size cake of soap, which you don’t often get with accommodation. WiFi isn’t included, though mobile broadband reception is good. It’s a great choice for a stopover or a visit to Burra.
