The beds are so light now that they slide across the floor when you sit on them, probably because there's laminate instead of carpet. The black bed runner also looks unsanitary next to the usual white hotel linen. I stayed at Mantra on View in room 912 and was really disappointed compared with my visit about three years ago. The rooms used to feel warm and cozy with the original heavy furniture and darker colours. This renovation feels cheap and clinical. The laminate flooring already looks badly installed, with visible gaps, and the bright white walls make the room feel like a hospital. Even the lighting doesn't match, one bulb warm and another bright white. They've added a small kitchenette that feels unnecessary, replacing the nice dark table the room used to have. The whole renovation feels rushed and tacky, and the hotel has lost the cozy atmosphere it had a few years back.

Housekeeping and front desk service were outstanding, warm and professional, and the food was delicious and well prepared. Chef kane deserves a special mention for being so accommodating and making dining a great experience. I had a wonderful stay at Mantra on View Hotel. The staff were friendly, welcoming and always ready to help, which made the experience memorable from start to finish. If I come back to the Gold Coast, I'll definitely stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful and well situated, close to all the amenities. But the few reception staff I dealt with were completely unhelpful. My key card wouldn't open the gym and they did nothing to help. And every hotel in the world lets you leave your bags for a while on departure day. Not this one.

The location is fantastic, the staff were excellent, and breakfast was great. The beach is only a two-minute walk away, though the seas at Surfers can get quite toppy. The rooms really need a big makeover. The hotel's exterior looks brilliant. I hadn't researched properly and my children were quite disappointed to find there was no pool. I saw the word spa while scrolling but didn't notice it meant day spa only.

Our room's beach view was fantastic, and the TV actually worked and had Foxtel, so the kids could watch what they wanted. The buffet was good and catered for vegetarians, and room service was great too. Staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. Mantra on View has an excellent location, with the beach less than two minutes away and shops and activities nearby, including arcades and escape rooms. We loved our stay and would absolutely come back. I'd definitely recommend it.
