Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour

The location is great, right beside the Convention Centre light rail station, which is convenient if you’re attending a function or conference. The rooms are pretty standard, nothing special and not what I’d call 5-star. The buffet breakfast really stood out, though. It was 5/5 and hands down one of the best I’ve had. There was a whole gluten-free section with amazing pastries, and everything was clearly labelled, so there were lots of dietary options.

Breakfast was delightful, with a great range in a calm setting, and checkout went smoothly. We could check in early, and while waiting, enjoyed the peaceful entry area and bar. The room was nice, clean, and a good size, with the expected amenities, a tidy bathroom, a nice shower and bath, and a really comfy bed. We’d booked a west-facing room but must have been upgraded to one with a city view. The view was good, though a new skyscraper construction site obstructed it. Noise from the site was okay, but not ideal. Overall, it was a nice stay. Finding the hotel from the light rail was hard. Station signs sent us to the carpark, where hotel signs directed us through its length to two lifts that weren’t working. We had to walk back through the carpark and carry our luggage up 4 flights of stairs. Once we reached reception, staff gave us clearer directions to a flight of stairs and a working lift back to the carpark and light rail. A bowl and 2 glasses sat outside our door for the first 18 hours; we ended up moving them ourselves because it was off-putting.

From leaving my luggage with Ms. Con through to the quick, efficient check-in and checkout, everything went smoothly. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful, and the staff at the restaurant and small shop were friendly too. The food there was amazing. I truly enjoyed my stay and would happily return!

We recently spent 3 nights at the Novotel Darling Harbour for my birthday. I was thoroughly spoiled on the day with a bottle of bubbles and a lovely dessert. On our first day, we visited friends, then came back to a yummy cheese platter and a bottle of red wine, which we really appreciated. We were upgraded to a Junior suite, a lovely surprise. From arrival and check-in to departure, everything was seamless and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a very relaxing vibe, with plenty of space to sit and veg. The bed gave us a great night’s sleep, and we enjoyed the breakfast choices. A very memorable stay. Thanks to all!
