Oasis on Beamish Hotel

The main thing to know is that the rooms are reached by stairs just past the bar and restaurant entrance, and there’s no lift, so it wouldn’t suit people with reduced mobility or physical disabilities. Our room had the basics and was clean, though there are no kitchen facilities. The restaurant downstairs has a nice choice of food at affordable prices. There’s a shared bathroom with a bath for guests without a private one. My partner and I stayed one night at Oasis on Beamish, and it was excellent value. Check-in was quick and easy. We didn’t hear other rooms, though you can sometimes hear people passing your door. The main road’s lights and noise were the only issue, so light sleepers might want earplugs and an eye mask. I’d definitely stay again.

The interiors are a bit dated, but the food and drinks are great value and more than make up for it. Happy hour schooners are cheap, and the food is top notch for the whole family. Try the gage meats platter for $59.

Best bar in Campsie. The staff and management are all great and friendly. Sai and Dan are especially wonderful and professional, and Miley and Natty in gaming are really friendly too!

We didn’t end up staying because they couldn’t offer us another room. The shared bathroom was pretty clean, and the guy had just finished mopping it. The room itself wasn’t completely clean, and the upkeep and maintenance were poor, though I understand it’s cheap for what it is. The busy roads are much too close, and the windows don’t keep out the noise. The bar and Bottle'O are managed by reception staff, so you enter around the side of the building, which looks a little seedy. Maybe two stars at a push.
