Royal Pacific Hotel

The hotel’s in a central spot between Manly and the city, with helpful staff and convenient onsite parking. The rooms were great quality, and I was very happy with the stay. The bathroom could use a little work.

The hotel café food was delicious and made the mornings especially enjoyable. I had a pleasant stay, though getting to the train station takes a while. The route back at night isn’t very well lit, particularly at the road crossing, and the area can feel quiet and a little unsafe.

I stay here as my Sydney base 10-15 times a year, and the location makes getting around the city easy. It’s close to major roads and expressways, with public transport practically at the door. Guest parking onsite is a real bonus. Lane Cove is a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive, and Chatswood is 5 minutes by car. Within five minutes on foot there’s a service station foodary and a KFC. The staff are accommodating with requests, needs and flexibility. Rooms have the facilities I need, including electronics and tea and coffee making facilities. Even on the highway there’s little to no truck or car noise, though emergency vehicle sirens can be heard. Rooms are cleaned and refreshed daily and are spotless. One downside is the noise when tour groups arrive and talk in the corridors. I wish they’d remember there are other guests on their floor. What more could you want?

Staff are welcoming and very helpful, and I’ll keep staying here when I visit Sydney’s inner north suburbs. The rooms are well appointed, and breakfast has a good buffet selection. There are coffee machines in the rooms with special small cups, which is nice. A coffee machine in the breakfast café would be a good addition.
