Rydges Campbelltown

My review is about dinner with my partner on 14th February 2026. At 18:15 pm, we were told they had run out of the Mornington peninsula Pinonoir we ordered. The pork belly starter came with baby apple and a crunchy condiment, but both tasted completely rancid. Nobody in the kitchen acknowledged what felt like a huge mistake or offered any response. Then the steak Scott fillet arrived with cold mash on a cold plate. The prawn and scallop ravioli was even worse: old-smelling seafood in really old pasta, with a bisque-style sauce that was awful. We were complimented the two worst dishes, but my girlfriend spent the rest of the evening being sick. The chef needs to take responsibility, and the hotel needs to improve. The kitchen staff seemed careless and the quality was poor.

We booked this hotel for a nearby wedding. The club next door was handy, and there were amenities close by. Staff were friendly and obliging, and the buffet breakfast was well stocked with GF options. The large bathroom and hot shower were lovely. A few things could be better. One room key kept failing even after being re-keyed, leaving us locked out of the hotel, the lift, and our room. We added another person to a king balcony room, but there wasn’t enough seating for two, let alone three, and no balcony chairs either. We paid for both rooms on arrival, but the second room was charged again when those guests checked in later. The hotel corrected that mistake on its own.

We were upgraded to a one-bedroom apartment on our second visit, with lovely views over the Campbelltown area and gardens. It made a great start to our trip, and we were really impressed. On our first stay, our room faced the main road, but it was quiet even with the heavy traffic. I like this place and we’ll be back.

The room was clean and modern, with a comfortable bed and good quality thankyou. brand soaps. There aren’t many amenities, though. There’s access to a nearby gym and exercise pool, but kids under 14 can’t use it, so it was no use to us. Drinks downstairs are expensive.
