Songbirds Rainforest Retreat

Monique’s service was amazing. She patiently answered my many questions and accommodated our needs. The little cabin is beautiful, and the property sits in a gorgeous rainforest setting. Since you’re in the forest, expect some animal noises and the usual wear from moss and plant life. It’s still a really amazing place.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Songbirds. It’s comfortable and fairly low key rather than especially luxurious, but we didn’t want for anything. The fireplace was lovely, and it was great to see morning light through the trees. The heater had been switched on before we arrived, a thoughtful touch, and the service was friendly. The outdoor chairs and table were too dusty and dirty to use, which comes with being so immersed in nature. We didn’t need them, but if you plan to sit outside, you’ll need to wipe them down. There are plenty of seats indoors.

I was really disappointed with Songbird Rainforest Retreat. The staff member I spoke to was rude and seemed uninterested in helping. She said there were no rooms, but a quick online search showed availability. When I mentioned that, she replied casually that we’d have to wait 2-3 hours for them to clean a room. Her dismissive tone made us feel unwelcome and put us off booking. The whole interaction lacked courtesy and professionalism. I wouldn’t recommend this resort.

The rainforest views and location are beautiful, but the cabins are poorly looked after, with mould and dust everywhere. We were told check-in was at 2, yet reception was closed by 3.
