Austin Tourist Park

We stayed three nights on a powered site. The park is lovely, with big trees and a creek running alongside it, and being able to choose our site was a nice touch. Everyone we dealt with was so friendly. The amenities are excellent, with private showers, and there's even a pool!

We camped by the river for the night. It was a bit steep getting down there, but the tourist park was beautiful and clearly well maintained. The amenities nearby were really nice and clean, and the price was great. We'll be back.

The booking rules were restrictive: we had to book at least six nights and check in two days before the Tamworth Country Music Festival started. Since very little was happening before the festival, arriving that early after travelling from the West Coast was inconvenient and didn't add value. Most staff were friendly and approachable, but check-in took much longer than the advertised three minutes. The toilets and showers were clean and had hot water, though they're dated and need an upgrade. The experience fell short of expectations, and I'd choose somewhere else next time.

The grounds were well maintained, and the facilities were clean and easy to use. Staff were friendly, and there were lots of permanent residents without any issues. There is one concern, though: a dog at a house backing onto the park is aggressive and nearly clears the fence. It is scary.
