I stayed for two months and had an absolutely amazing time. Darren, the manager, helped me find work and was always around and happy to help with anything else. You could tell he loved his job, and his enthusiasm and good mood spread through the whole hostel.
I’m walking the Heysen trail at the moment, and this place is right on the trail. The manager is the best, and even came to pick me up from town. Everyone was very warm and welcoming, and the facilities are great.
We only stayed one night, but the room was clean and tidy and the staff were really friendly. The place was great, with a well-equipped kitchen and lots of spots to relax, including a TV room and instruments to play. The view across the wineries and hills was beautiful and peaceful.
The days were lovely and the nights stayed quiet, which made our month here such a great experience. My girlfriend, a friend and I felt really well looked after by the respectful, understanding staff. Leaving was genuinely sad. Barossa Backackers will always have a place in our hearts ❤️❤️
I came to the hostel in July and they helped me find farm work right away. The work is really hard, but the pay is good and you can usually work seven days a week. The staff were so kind and accommodating, and I met people and made memories I’ll keep for life. I’d recommend this hostel to anyone :)”
