Aromet Motor Inn

There was dirt everywhere and bugs even in the beds. The shower and soap were mouldy, and the wood was rotting. The room looked nothing like the listing photos. One star, never going back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at the Aromet Motor Inn over the June long weekend. It was handy for meeting friends for dinner, since we could walk there. The main road made it a little noisy when we were trying to sleep, though. Our room wasn't ready on arrival, but the owners got it sorted quickly and were very helpful, so we didn't have to wait long. Apart from the road noise, it was a good stay. 🙂

The pool was so dirty it couldn't be used, and the price felt high for what was offered. The beds, table, and benchtop were clean, though the fridge needed a better clean. There was mould on the shower tiles and in the soap dispenser. We also had to let the water run for five minutes before it cleared. Wouldn't recommend.

The room was filthy. There seemed to be vomit on the shower floor and sticky stuff all over the bedroom floor. We cleaned it ourselves because we didn't want to make a fuss and assumed this was normal for a motel of that standard. We didn't report it at the time. The checkout was much worse. The Russian woman running the motel said she'd take our belongings and lock them in the office because she needed to clean, even though she'd offered us another night. We'd driven four hours to visit family and were out having breakfast when she insisted we come back as soon as possible. There was no understanding or flexibility. When we returned, checked out, and mentioned the room's condition, she yelled at us and kicked us off the property. Her attitude was hostile and erratic, and the way guests are treated is appalling. I strongly advise against staying here. There are much better options in town.
