We had a great family stay at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel in December. The location made everything easy with a child: it’s right in the village and a short walk from the lifts, shops and restaurants. The hotel has a warm, classic alpine atmosphere, and the staff were helpful and very friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. We also enjoyed a couple of lunches at the T-Bar and thought breakfast at Cascades was excellent. There’s no in-room safe, which would have been handy, and no air conditioning, something that may be noticeable in the warmer summer months. Still, the relaxed feel and perfect location made for a really enjoyable visit.

You can’t beat the location, and the staff were lovely and attentive. The rooms are a bit dated, but that adds some charm. Just expect them to get hot in summer, since there’s no air conditioning.

The hotel’s mountain views were stunning, and everything felt relaxed and well-run. The staff were warm, welcoming and really helpful from the moment I arrived. The location is hard to beat, right in the village and just steps from the chairlift, which made getting onto the slopes easy. My room was clean and cosy with plenty of alpine charm. I liked having the fireplace lounge and sauna to unwind in after being outdoors. Dinner at Cascades was a highlight, and the pub next door had a great atmosphere for casual food and drinks. It seems like a fantastic base for skiing in winter or hiking in summer. I loved the stay and will definitely return.

I’d recommend the alpine Hotel for a ski trip. It was my first stay in Thredbo, and the location was excellent, a short walk to the gondola and close to restaurants. The rooms are cosy, breakfast is pretty good, and the lobby has a great alpine vibe. The late-season atmosphere was really pleasant.
