City Motor Inn Toowoomba

The owners are friendly, nice and quick to sort things out. The showers were clean and worked well, and the bathroom and rooms were tidy and clean. The road outside is very busy, but the place itself is nice and quiet, no one disturbs you. There's parking for every room, and the beds are comfortable. I'd come back.

It's fantastic being so close to the hospital. The room was okay, nothing special, but the shower door is broken and won't close properly. There's no car park near the room, so carrying bags is quite a hike. Smokers should skip this one, as you can only smoke in a little corner a long walk from the rooms.

My Booking.com review still won't show. Hours after I posted it, Booking.com emailed asking whether I'd stayed because my booking had been cancelled. I never write negative reviews, this is my first. Don't stay here. The owner only responds to good reviews, not bad ones. The room was immaculate and really well appointed for the price, but the shower gel dispenser was empty, which is typical when you haven't packed any for a one-night stay. The noise was the real letdown. I've been awake since 2am because of constant stomping in the room above. I booked the room so I wouldn't be tired while driving back and forth to the flower carnival in one night. It would've been a much better option, because now I'm starting a very long day exhausted. The air conditioners are noisy too, even though I didn't have mine on.

In room 7 the shower leaks, and the bed had stains. After the second night, I saw two big pests. The manager was very rude and said I couldn't have visitors. It felt like he had cameras in the room, which scared me. I could hear people walking around above my room, and it needs a deep clean. Under the beds was yucky. I guess it's a three-star motel, but I think it's one star. It's okay if you need a dirty place for one night, but there are much better places in Toowoomba. We own trucks, and I'd rather sleep in my truck than stay here again. Be careful.
