We made the booking months ahead. When the original guest couldn’t come, we contacted the hotel well in advance to have it transferred to my name. Staff confirmed the change several times, including someone we believe was the manager. But when we arrived, they refused to let us check in and said a refund wasn’t an option. We were left in an unfamiliar town without a place to stay, and nowhere else was available because demand was high. We’d relied on a booking the hotel had already confirmed was updated. There was no accountability or customer service. I’d strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

I’ve stayed here many times with my dog before and had a great experience. Today I called to ask if a pet-friendly room was available, and the man who answered was extremely rude. He said they weren’t pet friendly. I accepted that not every place is, and said I thought they were. He raised his voice to say, “WERE NOT ANYMORE,” then hung up on me. Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional.

Ruthven street motor inn turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We needed affordable accommodation for a wedding, on the cheap side, and the rooms were very clean, neat and tidy. There were extra towels in the cupboards and plenty of soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we could set the aircon temperature as we liked. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful in accommodating us with our newborn. It was a lovely experience.

Being near the city parks was handy, and I had a fairly good stay. The room itself was fine, though how it feels seems to depend a lot on whether you're on the first or second floor and who else is staying there.

The bed was comfortable and the shower had hot water. Our room was clean and had what we needed for one night, though it was a little run down. The location is good.
