The Sands Torquay

The room was quiet, clean, and modern, with a huge TV, minibar fridge, and very comfortable beds. It was fully serviced daily if you wanted, and there was free on-site parking. We spent six nights in a twin accessible room, which was what we wanted. We booked on the day, and Robyn was fantastic at sorting it out at the last minute. The reception and booking staff were all great. We ate dinner every night at the on-site restaurant, cafe, and bar. The food and drinks were great and reasonably priced for a hotel, with all-day dining. A big thanks to the restaurant staff, who were amazing even under pressure, and to the flexible chefs. They catered for dietary requirements too. I highly recommend The Sands, and we hope to return next year.

It’s in Torquay, near the beach, and has a golf course, nice views, and great amenities. The staff were really friendly, and the Italian resto inside the hotel was amazing too. One of the better hotels we’ve stayed at in southwest Melbourne.

Our room was modern, clean, and beautifully laid out, with two twin singles, a great golf course view, and super comfortable beds. The beachfront was also a short walk away. Before we arrived, the reception staff were helpful in finding a room that could meet our needs. The online booking page showed no availability for the room type and bed arrangement we needed, so I called to ask if they could adjust the bedding in an available room. They understood and worked to make it possible. I also asked for a golf course view if one was available, and we were lucky to get that. They were clear that they’d do their best and that it might not be possible, which we respected. We arrived two hours before check-in and needed to use the bathroom, so I asked the lovely reception ladies if an early room might be possible. They checked, and we were able to get in. Tracey at reception was also very kind and helpful during checkout. A beautiful place for a getaway. We’ll definitely return.

The staff were all friendly, and the rooms were spotless and recently renovated. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay, especially the incredibly comfortable king bed. We’ll definitely be back, couldn’t ask for much more in a hotel.
