The BBQ made my stay: it's upstairs on the landing, and it's a great four-burner setup with a hood, side burner and sink. I made creamy Cajun chicken with rice one night, then roast lamb the next. My room was clean, comfortable and serviced daily, and the lady who greeted me was really friendly. She asked about my work and day, and we had a pleasant chat. Highly recommend this motel.

Nothing flash about the rooms, but they were clean and comfy. The location is fantastic for food, with pubs for dinner and a bakery across the road.

Being right in the heart of town made it easy to walk to restaurants and pubs, yet it was peaceful and quiet. We stayed one night on a busy weekend on the way to the Selwyn Snowfields, and Ashton Motel made our visit to charming Tumut even more memorable. Our room was spotless and well kept, with fresh, bright linen and towels. The toiletries were excellent, and the information catalogue in the room was more useful than I expected. The included light breakfast was a thoughtful touch, just right for a relaxed morning, especially if the weather lets you have a lazy start. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

For an affordable motel in the area, Ashton is a good choice. It's near some fantastic places to eat, and just about a two-minute walk from Coles and Kmart. The staff were helpful and gave us the light breakfast at check-in, which was nice. The rooms are sufficient for what you pay.

The room was spotlessly clean and everything was comfortable. The motel sits on the main street, but it was very quiet, and the price was good. It's one of the best motels we've stayed in, and the owners deserve to do well. The Star Hotel is a three-minute walk away for excellent meals, and there's a very clean laundrette just opposite.
