Bali Hi Motel

The room was basic but had what I needed, with a comfortable bed. There was no couch or armchair, and the blinds let in a little light around the edges. The shower was very short, about 170cm, while the Australian Standard is 205cm, so it would be fine if it met that standard. It’s suitable for little kids, but not taller people. At reception, the door was so stiff I thought it wouldn’t open, and a staff member nearby avoided helping for ten minutes before telling me to try again. Still, it was a good experience overall.

I keep coming back to Bali Hi when I’m in Tuncurry. The room is clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee facilities, and the pool is a nice extra. Shops and restaurants are close by, and the newly renovated Bowling Club is an easy short walk away. They serve some really good meals. It’s always a reliable, enjoyable stay.

We had a long drive from Brisbane and arranged a late check-in without any trouble. The room was clean and well looked after, and the bed was comfortable. We arrived very late and left early, so didn’t meet staff in person, but the people we spoke to by phone were accommodating and easy to deal with. Thanks! 😊

Our late arrival after a long trip turned into a very stressful night. The owners told us to leave and find another motel, so we were stranded with small children and had to find somewhere else urgently. We lost the money for that night’s booking. We’d booked a family room at Bali Hi Motel, Forster through Agoda, listed with a double bed, bunk bed, and kids staying free. The owners said our four-year-old daughter couldn’t stay because the room was only for four people, including my boys. We offered to pay extra for her or take another room, but they were rude, uncooperative, and showed no understanding. The room was spacious enough, and this could have been handled with basic courtesy, but there was no flexibility or compassion. It was deeply upsetting for us as parents. Families travelling with children should think twice about booking here, as you may not get the support or kindness you expect.
