Tropical Bliss Bed and Breakfast

The deck outside, with its table and chairs, was pleasant, and the Mena Creek Hotel was just a short drive away. We left without staying for breakfast, so I can’t say how that was. Unfortunately, the room itself made for a very disappointing night, and we wouldn’t return or recommend it. My partner had booked this one night as a surprise after we’d been apart for three months because of travel and work. At arrival, staff couldn’t find our booking at first, though they did locate it eventually. We then had to spend some time talking with the host before we could settle in. Cleanliness was the biggest problem. The bed looked like someone had already slept in it, with dirt and hair across it. The bathroom was private but reached via the patio. Its toilet, sink, taps and mirror had visible marks, and debris on the floor made it look as if it hadn’t been swept or vacuumed recently. The hand towel left an unpleasant smell on my hands. We didn’t want to use the shower, so we didn’t use the main towels either. The bedroom was beside the lounge, separated by shutter-style doors with painted glass panes. They wouldn’t close properly, and light from the lounge came through at night. Edit: After your response, I’d like to know how you verified that I stayed there. I said my partner made the booking, so it wasn’t under my name. Your accusation that I wrote a false review only reinforces my view, shared with my partner, that the experience was poor. You didn’t acknowledge or show understanding of what happened for us.

We liked the simple, rustic style and the relaxed off-grid feel. Tropical Bliss in Mena Creek is tucked into lush rainforest, with plenty of charm and a peaceful atmosphere. It isn’t five star accommodation, so don’t expect everything to be pristine. The hosts welcomed us warmly, and waking to birdsong then drifting off to the sounds of nature was bliss. A great place to unwind and explore nearby Paronella Park.

Thank you, Peter and Steve. Your animals and the creek, along with what you called the best TV in the world, made the place special. The kind, gentle way you’ve created the environment and space was amazing and genuinely healing. Hearing your stories and life experiences was fascinating and inspiring, too. We had a great time at Tropical bliss Mena Creek. The sound of the babbling creek made relaxing easy, and the bathroom facilities were perfect. Steve and Peter were lovely hosts, breakfast was just right, and the coffee was great too. Definitely recommend staying here.
