Carlyle Suites & Apartments

The location worked really well for us: the Wiradjuri Walking track is just across the road, Wagga beach is down the road, and the supermarkets, shops and pubs are far enough behind that they didn’t feel right on top of us. Wagga Art Gallery is also an easy walk away. It was a busy hotel, but service was quick. Our door wouldn’t lock when shut, so the manager moved us to another room straight away without much fuss.

The reception staff were very friendly, though that came with a slight trade-off in efficiency. The room itself was large, clean, in excellent condition and well appointed, with convenient parking. Shops, pubs and restaurants are within walking distance, and the river is nearby for an evening stroll with plenty of birdlife.

The room was spacious and the receptionist was great, but we barely slept. There were so many mosquitoes and insects inside that we killed over 20 mosquitoes during our one-night stay. Outside the room there were also too many flies and wasps. They should fumigate regularly and provide bug spray. The squeaky door needs sorting out as well.

We were in Wagga Wagga overnight for a family function, and the Carlyle worked well for us. The room was spacious and very clean, with the usual bathroom amenities, a free continental breakfast bag and biscuits with the tea and coffee. I also appreciated the good ironing board, something places often overlook. I’d asked for a quiet room and got one at the back of the block. I did wonder about noise from a large motor below us, possibly air conditioning, but it switched off in the evening. My only real downside was the shower over the bath, though it wasn’t a big deal. Parking felt a bit tight for large, long cars.
