Mercure Wagga Wagga

The staff were friendly and helpful about the area, and the hotel is central to town, the sporting fields and the aquatic centre. Breakfast had a nice variety, and dinner was delicious and fairly priced. Accor Discounts applied. The beer was cold and there was a nice range of wines.

Most of the staff were very nice, but the minibar charge was extremely disappointing. I was billed for items supposedly missing, even though I didn't know there was a minibar in my room until I contacted the hotel about the charge. The fee was applied without my consent a day after checkout. I did not take anything from the minibar, so I'm also very concerned about the hotel's security and safety. I would not recommend this hotel.

The room never cooled evenly. Although the AC started working after we reported the problem, its airflow was very poor and barely reached the corner bed area, which was especially uncomfortable with two queen beds in the room. We were told the airflow would improve later because of the hot weather, but waiting didn't help. The intercom was also out when we checked in, though reception fixed it after we reported it. The problem was only partly resolved, and the room comfort fell short of expectations.

Amara at reception was so friendly and helpful. She arranged an early check-in and a really thoughtful upgrade so we could get ready for a wedding after travelling interstate. The bed was lovely and comfortable, and I slept like a log. The shower body wash was empty and there was no microwave, but we’ll definitely be back.
