Being so close to the river made it easy to head out for plenty of walks with my poochie, and I had a lovely little getaway. The park is well kept and the location is handy. My pet-friendly cabin suited me fine, with a double bed, bunk and the basics like linen, a fridge and microwave. It is on the small side, so a family might find it a squeeze. I noticed there are quite a few newer family-friendly cabins too. I'd come back with the caravan.
We camped on the grassy area, so I can't comment on the rooms. The location worked really well for both town and the boat ramp. There was music, cocktails and a food van for New Year's, which made for a fun night. Pancake Saturday, with a gold coin donation to The RFD, is a great idea.
The park's in a great spot, but check your booking details carefully or you may not get the site or room you expected. There's also a holiday surcharge, and I thought $20 a night was steep for a one-room cabin. Cabin 20 needs a bit of maintenance: the kitchen extractor doesn't work, the bathroom vent needs cleaning, and the vent above the bunks is coming away from the wall. A blind on the big bathroom window would help too, as the afternoon sun turns it into a sauna.
The power was limited during our stay, topping out at 500 watts on the first day and 800 watts on the second. Our campsite was much too small for my caravan, and I was pretty sure the dump point was out of order. The rec room wasn't really usable either, with pieces missing from the board games and ping pong table. At those prices I wouldn't stay again or recommend it. There are much nicer free campsites nearby.
The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The cabin was lovely, and I appreciated how easy check-in was. Thank you!
