We booked two rooms with low expectations, and still left after just 35 minutes. The rooms smelled of mould and cigarette smoke. The linen was yellowed and marked, and there was even a previous guest's hair on the pillowcase, a lovely homely touch. The dark grey carpet was visibly dirty and mouldy, so going barefoot wasn't a good idea. The shower base was broken, with a piece of sheet metal poorly screwed over it. A vintage $5 suction-cup anti-slip mat, once probably white, had been lovingly installed, but neither it nor the metal cover seemed to have been cleaned, preserving that important 'vintage bettina' look. There were sharp broken bathroom tiles, artistically arranged around a loose mixer tap that came out of the basin when turned off. The air conditioner and its filters looked and smelled as if they hadn't been cleaned in their 'original condition'. It sits over a loose-fitting door, which may explain how it's stayed that way. Outside, the pool was green, matching the grass area used to store rubbish and broken furniture. Parking at the back was a dream if you like tight spaces you can barely turn into. We had a spot hard against a fence on the left, with a cordoned-off grassy area behind. Getting out felt like reliving an Austin Powers movie. Still, don't let my review stop you staying. I don't consider a couple of hundred dollars wasted, since I'll get years of fun telling everyone about the experience.

As a mature woman travelling on my own, I felt safe here and had no issues with the motel. I was concerned about its location near retail and a major road, and about previous reviews, but the rooms had everything I needed. Some are set off the road behind the motel, and country roads mean it isn't noisy. It's perfectly suitable for a night or two. The bed was fresh and clean. Cleaning and presentation missed some details, but you get what you pay for.

I've stayed here a couple of times and would stay again, though I don't think it's good value for money. The place is old, worn, and outdated, and the driveway is full of potholes that seem easy to fix. Beds have varied a lot: one visit had a great, comfy bed, while the bed in a different room last time was horrible.

The outside looks quite dingy and neglected, though the rooms are perfectly clean and not bad at all. It's an ordinary motel with the features you'd expect in an Australian town, perfectly adequate and priced appropriately.

The rooms are average but clean, and the location is the one real positive. Supplies were minimal: we had to go back to reception for the Wi-Fi password because it wasn't displayed in the room, and ask for an extra pillow. The basin made it impossible to fill the kettle, so we had to use the shower. There's a pool, but it's right out front by a major road with only pool fencing around it, so it feels very public and not relaxing or inviting. If you just want a budget-friendly place and don't mind filling the kettle from the shower or walking around in bathers beside a major road, this is the place.
