Parkview Motor Inn

We left without staying and got our money back, but only after having to ask for the price difference. I’d booked a deluxe two-bedroom apartment two months ahead, then arrived to find we’d been given a standard two-bedroom apartment. At first they insisted that was what I’d booked. When I showed the booking, they said they’d had to reshuffle rooms because police were checking in during the search for a man on the run. They’d still charged us for the deluxe room. I was then told the only difference was a dishwasher, which is rubbish: the standard room wasn’t renovated, had no smart TV, and smelled. The owners showed no empathy and didn’t apologise. I wouldn’t recommend this place, especially if you expect decent customer service.

Handy spot for an overnight stay, with a big park right nearby and food options close. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms are clean.

If you’ll arrive after reception closes, I’d avoid booking here. They ask you to give your credit card number, expiry date and CVC over the phone. That’s not acceptable from a fraud prevention point of view.

There’s plenty of parking, and it’s only a short walk into town. The park view is nice, and the rooms are clean and spacious. They’re reasonably quiet despite being on the main road. The owners were friendly, especially Millie the receptionist cat. A great place to stay in Wangaratta.
