Scenic Rim View Cottages

We had a lovely, quiet weekend away for our birthday, with a great view across the countryside. The host was lovely, gave us a good restaurant recommendation, and provided wonderful service. We spent time in the spa and by the fireplace, and cooked a yummy breakfast. The kitchen has two hot plates and all the equipment we needed, plus there’s a bbq on the deck. It was too chilly to stretch out on the deck chairs and watch the clouds, unfortunately. We don’t usually return to places because we like exploring new ones, but we’re keen to come back here soon.

The cottage felt very private, and we couldn’t see any other buildings from the room. There was lovely wildlife around too: a bird’s nest outside the bathroom window, and a green tree frog waiting by the door when we got back late. We were only there for one night for a wedding, and I wish we’d had more time. On arrival, someone picked us up in a golf cart and took us to the cottage. It was tidy, spacious, and well equipped, with board games in the cupboard. The spa bath was amazing, and both the couch and bed were really comfortable.

The buggy ride from the car park makes it easy to bring luggage to the cottage, and Glenys is super helpful with activity and restaurant suggestions for the area. We’ve stayed here twice now and absolutely love it. The cottage has everything we need, including a beautiful fireplace, a big spa, and a view to die for. We’ll definitely be back for a third visit.

The walk from the car park to the cabin is on a rough gravel path with no lighting, so if you’re coming back late, make sure your phone has enough battery to use as a torch. This was our second stay, in March, and it’ll be our last. The owner had forgotten our booking dates and when we were due to arrive. We also had to leave a day early because a cyclone was coming through our home town, but we were still charged for the night we didn’t stay. That was extremely disappointing as returning guests, especially since the circumstances were out of our control.
