The Dragonfly Inn Hotel

The view was lovely, and we’d definitely book here again when we return to Launceston. We felt so comfortable at the Dragonfly Inn, from the quiet rooms and very comfy beds to the great showers and real coffee in the rooms. The bath was especially lovely. Breakfast is self catered, but presented beautifully. It’s such a welcoming home, with so much care put into making guests’ stays enjoyable.

I’m a big fan of French press coffee, so I loved having different coffee options. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and such a thoughtful touch. There’s also a thorough handbook, with emergencies and backup arrangements considered. The common area seems to be a great place to meet other guests, and the team has a real eye for detail. The house itself is full of character and lovely features. Thanks, Dragonfly team. I’d happily stay again and hope to see your latest jewel one day.

We had such a lovely night here. The dining area and living room were both just right, and the hosts have clearly taken great care to think through what guests might need. Even the little things are good quality, including the toilet paper. It was a wonderful stay.

The breakfast was generous, with cereals, eggs, bread, juice and several milk choices. There were also considerate extras around the place, including complimentary drinks and snacks, plus the choice of bulk shampoo or small individual portions. Our downstairs room stayed quiet even though it faced the shared dining area. The building has been nicely restored, though its sloping, uneven floors felt odd and made me wonder if everything was structurally sound. The only things keeping me from giving five stars were the hot water: after my ten-minute shower, my husband ran out after five minutes, and the driveway and parking were a very tight fit for our large 4WD. For the value, I’d consider staying again and would recommend it to others.
