Boscobel of Tasmania

There’s such a peaceful feel to this place, just right for a proper retreat and a chance to recharge. Breakfast was huge and delicious, and we enjoyed wandering into town to browse the shops and antiques. Our room felt fresh, clean and tastefully furnished, with a cosy heater that looked like a real log fire and fresh flowers. Thanks to David and Annette for being so welcoming and kind.

We came back for our second stay this weekend and will visit again. David and Annette always make us feel welcome. The rooms and gardens are exquisite, and breakfast is delicious. We love this place.

We spent a delightful stay here in early May and would definitely return. Annette and David were gracious, accommodating and genuinely warm hosts. In bedroom 3, we had lovely views across the river, Ulverstone and the surrounding hills. The bed was comfortable, and underfloor heating in the ensuite was a treat in the cool climate. Upstairs, we found homemade shortbread and tea and coffee facilities. We enjoyed drinks by the open fire in the lounge at night, then coffee in the conservatory overlooking the acre of gardens. Annette served a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs with mushrooms, tomatoes and organic home-grown greens in a dining room that reminded us of an Irish manor. Boscobel of Tasmania is a beautifully restored home in Tasmania’s stunning North West region.

I stayed for a week at this standout BnB in Ulverstone, Tasmania. The owners were friendly and made sure I had everything I needed, and the gardens are lovely. My accommodation was elegant and tastefully renovated, while still respecting the period of this stately home. Breakfast was generous and delicious. I appreciated the local activity knowledge and excellent customer service. I’ll definitely return to Boscobel.
