Cameo Inn Motel

Gail kept checking on me while I drove through the night across the Hay Plains, after a delay at our previous stop put us behind schedule. I was travelling alone with my two young kids from Adelaide to the Sunshine Coast, and we stayed at the Cameo Inn on both the way up to Queensland and the way back. Her care meant a lot. She's genuine and trustworthy, and such a lovely person. The rooms were clean and air conditioned, with bottles of water in the fridge, which I always appreciate. Thanks for looking after us, Gail. Your hospitality was much appreciated!

Gail at reception was lovely and made us feel welcome. We could park right outside our room, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower pressure deserves five stars. There was a little noise from the rooms beside us when people were there, but it didn't disturb us. The fridge kept our drinks cold, though the ice packs thawed in its freezer, so don't count on keeping esky ice packs frozen.

There'll probably be a next time, and I might try the restaurant then. This is a good country motel: check-in was friendly, and we got all the information we needed. The room was very clean and spacious, with a sofa plus a table and two chairs. It had everything you'd expect. The bathroom was roomy too, and having the basin outside made the layout practical.

The host was friendly and welcoming, and the room was a decent size and quiet. I appreciated the blockout blinds. A couple of things made the stay less convenient: there was no power outlet in the bathroom, and the handbasin was outside it. The shower also leaked from one corner into the basin area, leaving a dangerous wet surface. We tried to tell the manager when we left, but he seemed to be busy elsewhere.
