County Lodge

The County Lodge and the True Blue have the same owner. I moved accommodation because of availability and an extended stay, and after I left a review I spoke with the owner about a bug I'd found in the bed. To my shock, he said, "that's okay, these bugs are from the lighting and are harmless." No, it's not okay. Clean the sheets better and get rid of the bugs. The bed felt comfortable, but not with bugs in it. No excuses. The bathroom floor slopes a little toward the shower, but the drain is tiny. When showering, water builds up to about an inch and spills into the rest of the bathroom. Cleaning was sporadic. I only noticed all the bugs when the bed was fully made at the end of the week. The bins were emptied regularly, but coffee and milk were never restocked.

Such a lovely little country town find. My daughter and I had a basic room while travelling, and it was so comfortable and clean. Management and staff were lovely and made us feel very comfortable. Definitely recommend, and we'll be back. Thankyou

The rooms were old and a bit smelly, and I couldn't sleep on the sheets or pillow, so I had to put a towel down. They allowed my small dog, but charged $40 on top of the room fee, so it didn't feel like good value. I was glad I could sit outside. Never again.

The room itself was fine, but the service was trash. We called ahead about checking in late and got a lockbox code. It didn't work. After my fourth call to the after-hours staff, I was directed to an unlocked room and wasn't given a key. The bloke on the phone was rude and hung up twice when I tried asking about the key. I'd pay double to stay somewhere with competent staff.
