City Beach Motel

DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL!! There was mould throughout the room, and the sheets were dirty and used. There was blood in the bathroom too. The owners showed no care towards their tenants. One of the bosses told my partner, “I don’t care if you kill yourself.” That was appalling. My partner was homeless, and they showed no respect. The old owners were good, but these ones are ridiculous. They should be ashamed.

The family rooms work well for two adults and two kids, and the location is great. The hotel is a little dated and the rooms could use some work. Beds were okay but could be updated. The kitchen was very old, the taps leaked, and two of the four burners didn’t work.

The people managing the place are super nice, which makes the extortionate prices hard to believe. The room had a huge stainless steel sink, like the one my uncle Frank used to clean flathead in his back shed. Cigarette burns in the carpet brought him to mind too. Add low, rumbling traffic that sounded like a diesel locomotive was in the room, and the vibe was complete.

The rooms are spacious, and ours had its own facilities. The place is a bit dated, but the price is reasonable. We enjoyed the stay, especially the central location and very nice owners. Friday and Saturday nights were a little noisy, though the other nights were fine. Good value.
